Morning mist over the Upper Lakes in rain is atmospheric—still worth the early start. Keep walking with rain gear; in heavy rain take the shorter Lower Lakes highlights route. Allow an extra 20 minutes on the D1 in wet conditions; lunch at bistro KUM in Rastoke has indoor seating and is unaffected.

Take the Luzern–Interlaken Express to Interlaken Ost, arriving at 11:54; the 2026 timetable has no 08:xx departure. Catching the 09:06 would require leaving the hotel around 07:15 and conflicts with the planned breakfast.

If time and energy allow, add Bachalpsee (about 50 minutes on foot each way from the top station); otherwise save it for the morning of 10/25.
Check the Jungfrau webcams and cable-car notices first: if the First gondola is suspended, walk the Lauterbrunnen valley instead—waterfalls swell in rain and Staubbach is at its best; Trümmelbach Falls runs inside the mountain, making it a perfect rainy-day stop (bring a light layer, it’s cool inside). Otherwise stay in Interlaken for the Höheweg promenade.

S24 Ultra: If Lauterbrunnen falls in the morning, use 0.6× for the church and Staubbach Falls. In Grindelwald, use 3× for the Eiger’s north face in the afternoon.
Check the webcams in the morning: no visibility or suspended cable cars means no forced summit trip. Rainy-day picks are St. Beatus Caves (fully indoors on Lake Thun, about an hour) or a second pass at Trümmelbach Falls; for a slow day, café-hop in Grindelwald with mountain views, or claim the BERGWELT spa as a legitimate plan.
In poor weather, skip Jungfraujoch and take the “Early Zermatt” plan. The rail journey through the Bernese Oberland is scenic in itself—take a window seat; arriving early means settling into BEAUSiTE and an unhurried café evening in the village. Nothing is lost.

After breakfast, take the Gornergrat cogwheel railway up to Riffelsee for the Matterhorn reflection (calmest in the morning). Be back at the meeting point by 14:45.
If the operator cancels paragliding, own the indoor day: Matterhorn Museum (about 1.5 hours) → hot chocolate at Bäckerei Fuchs, the village’s most storied cup—thick enough to arrive in a metal jug, from a family bakery running since 1965 → spa and a lazy afternoon at BEAUSiTE. This is what rainy days are for.
S24 Ultra: Reach Riffelsee before 09:00 for calmer water and use 0.6× for the Matterhorn reflection; a smaller, quieter lake lies five minutes beyond the main lake. Use 0.6× for the Gornergrat panorama.
Take the mountain railway to the Gornergrat summit viewpoint, then continue to Riffelsee only if trail and ice conditions allow. You can hop on and off at mid-stations: Rotenboden is a 10-minute walk from Riffelsee and its famous Matterhorn reflection (clearest on calm mornings); Riffelberg’s Riffelhaus 1853 terrace faces the Matterhorn head-on for lunch; Riffelalp (2,211m) has a historic hotel and chapel. In poor visibility, skip the summit and enjoy the mid-stations instead.
Skip Gornergrat when there is no view and save the cable-car fare. Stay in Zermatt: the Matterhorn Museum, a quick stop at the Mountaineers’ Cemetery, then hot chocolate at Bäckerei Fuchs; or simply sleep in at BEAUSiTE and bank energy for tomorrow. A rainy mountain is best admired from below.

下雨就不上 Pilatus／Rigi（山頂沒展望等於白搭車錢），直接用 C 方案留在 Luzern：瑞士交通博物館（大型室內，半天逛不完）、有頂的卡貝爾橋、舊城騎樓逛街；之後提早去 Zürich 舊城喝咖啡，再回機場飯店。最後一天從容一點沒關係。
In rain, drop Pilatus/Rigi—a summit with no view is a wasted fare—and default to plan C in Luzern: the Swiss Museum of Transport (huge, easily half a day), the covered Chapel Bridge, and arcaded Old Town streets; then an early, unhurried coffee in Zürich Old Town before the airport hotel. A gentle final day is fine.
Reach the check-in area at Zürich Airport (ZRH) with time for baggage, security, and any tax-refund formalities.
